This is one of my favourite Christmas songs. Mary was a Godly young women who wanted to do God’s work.
“I am the Lords servant, Mary Answered”.
Despite being scared and knowing that she would be judged by others around her, she still trusted in God and accepted the plans that he had for her. I often wonder if Mary knew just how amazing her son would be, and without him we would not have the opportunity to have eternal life in heaven. Do we accept the plans that God has for us, just as easily as Mary did?
During this busy Christmas period, I wonder if we could take a step back and just think pon the importance of the Christmas story. Step away from the commercial side of Christmas, the presents, food and the expense and just think about the simple, yet extremely powerful message, of the true Christmas story - which is, that God sent his only son, Jesus, to be a sacrifice for all the wrong that we have done and that through his death and resurrection, we can be reconciled to God if we trust him and accept him as Saviour.
