The song today is a carol I only heard for the first time this year. It's an older one with a new tune. The words of this hymn are fantastic. They remind us that the baby we are thinking about at Christmas, the man who was born 2000 years ago, is actually the Word of God himself found as a human. Jesus was alive before he was born. He is an eternal person. He is unique, different from every human being who has ever lived or will ever live. He is the reason the whole planet, the whole universe was created in the first place. He is the whole reason we are here and breathing.
This Christmas can I ask, do you know him? Have you come to trust him? The bible tells us that we can come to know him, to enter into a relationship with him. All we have to do is trust him and give our lives to him, ask him to save us. This is eternal life.
"The Word Became Flesh
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God................................
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth."
