When I was younger the constant features of Easter were: getting an Easter egg, and rolling boiled eggs that we decorated down a hill. For me that was what I thought was the meaning of Easter.
Now, however, I have learned that it means so much more because it was around this time that the only son of the living God gave everything he had for us. He died for everyone's sin. He did this because of his love for us. “…but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." I can't claim to know why he would love us but the main thing for me is that he loved me in spite of all my failures and sin.
So the main question was what does Easter mean to me? For me it means that I am loved by a God who gave His life for me and is always there for me.
What does Easter mean to you?
