Christina Rossetti is not the only writer to confuse the climate of Palestine with our own. That apart she has produced this lovely carol enhanced here by the music of Gustav Holst.
"And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshipped Him. And when they had opened their treasures they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh" Matt.2 v 11
Gold speaks of His Divinity.
Frankincense speaks of the fragrance of His sinless life.
Myrrh speaks of the bitterness of His suffering on the cross.
The question is asked " What can I give Him?"
"My Heart" If He has our heart he has everything.
